Monster-themed cereals of the 1970sEdit
Yummy Mummy was introduced in 1974, but is no longer in production. From 1988 to 1993, it was sold as Fruity Yummy Mummy. The frosted fruit-flavored cereal contained vanilla-flavored marshmallows. It is also the name of the cereal's mascot, a humorous cartoon mummy.
Other cereals in the line include:
- Count Chocula (chocolate-flavoured)
- Boo Berry (blueberry-flavoured)
- Franken Berry (strawberry-flavoured)
- Fruit Brute (fruit-flavoured with lime-flavoured marshmallows).
Somewhat unusual for a retired advertising character, Yummy Mummy continues to be seen on the occasional piece of official merchandise: in recent years, both a resin model kit, and a bobblehead doll have been sold in his image.
